PM to participate in WCIT 2018 in Hyderabad

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will participate in the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) which will be held in Hyderabad, India from 19-21 February.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the conference as its Chief Guest.

The event, which is being held in India for the first time, will bring together thought leaders, thinkers, government leaders and social leaders to share their perception on the change surrounding the sector and in turn help stakeholders understand, prepare and adapt to the changes.

Around 2,500 delegates from 30 countries are expected to attend the three-day event which will focus on major areas of technology that are reshaping the world today that include artificial intelligence and blockchain and will feature 22 sessions on different topics.

The WCIT and NILF-2018 (Nasscom India Leadership Forum) are being jointly hosted by Nasscom and the World Information Technology and Services Alliance, Deccan Chronicle reported.
